Two police officers have been injured after their car was rammed by a four-wheel-drive in the Pilbara on Friday.
About 2.45am, two men allegedly forced their way into a home on Windgrass Way and assaulted the residents, a male and a female, before taking off with their 4WD, police spokeswoman Susan Usher said.
Police managed to block the road as the pair were fleeing in the stolen Toyota Landcruiser, registration 1AKS524, however the driver accelerated and rammed the police vehicle twice, pushing it three metres across the road before speeding off.
The male resident who was assaulted remains in hospital with facial injuries, while the woman was treated for minor injuries.
The officers, both male, were taken to hospital, one with leg injuries and the other with neck and back injuries.
