COMPETING in a triathlon might sound like a daunting feat to accomplish, but for hundreds of Bunbury and South West women it has been ticked off the bucket list.
The Nina’s Women’s Triathlon will return to Bunbury this year for the ninth time, giving local women the opportunity to tackle the event in a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere.
The triathlon is designed with achievable distances which welcome women who might be competing for the first time or returning to exercise after injury or pregnancy.
Committee member Debra Carver said there had already been about 230 registrations and the event was capped at 350.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity to meet new people and a great starting point – many women go on to compete in marathons and everyone gets a great sense of achievement,” Mrs Carver said.
This Sunday competitors are invited to an information day to learn everything they need to know about the event before the big day.
The information day will be held at Sportsfirst on Sunday, September 21 from 2pm to 4pm.
The Have a Go training program will kick off from October 6.
The event will be held on November 16.
