Teams of 25 will put their muscles to the test when they use their might to try and pull a 70-tonne truck in the fastest time at the inaugural Qube Truck Pull and Festival in Bunbury’s Bicentennial Square this Saturday.
And while the truck-pulling spectacle is set to be the main event on the day, it won’t be the only attraction at the festival.
People are encouraged to enjoy the food, markets, displays, entertainment and children’s activities on offer at the free event from 10am, and also take up the opportunity to have a complimentary health check.
Following the truck pulling contest, there will be a presentation of prizes to the fastest team, highest team fundraiser, highest individual fundraiser, lightest team and most creative team.
Hours of fun at Bicentennial Square
9am – Blue’s Ride for Health Research departs for Busselton
10am – Festival commences
11.15am – South West Veteran Car Club begins arriving
11.30am – Blue’s Ride for Health Research returns
11.45 – GWN7’s Doopa Dog arrives to assist Qube Bulk director Todd Emmert cut the ribbon to launch the Qube Truck Pull and Festival
12noon – Truck pull contest gets underway
2.45pm – Presentation of prizes to truck pull category winners
3pm – Festival concludes
Important information
To accommodate the truck pull and festival, a section of Blair Street between Bicentennial Square and the Leschenault Inlet will be closed. The traffic lights at Blair and Hayley streets will flash orange.
In the spirit of supporting local people with autism, a quiet area will be provided at the festival. All people are welcome to use this facility.
