WITH Christmas just 27 sleeps away, the City of Bunbury has decided to spread the festive cheer by giving residents more free parking.
From December 1 until December 24, the City has increased the free time limit at visitor/shopper car parks in the CBD from two hours to three.
This means shoppers will gain an extra hour of free parking to complete their Christmas shopping.
There are five visitor shopper car parks – totalling 990 individual car bays – all located throughout the CBD and all within walking distance of Bunbury’s shopping strip.
These locations are all available on a map provided by the City.
The map shows where shoppers can park and for how long.
Mayor Gary Brennan said the City will be prepared for a higher number of people visiting Bunbury’s CBD during the Christmas period.
“As well as the extended parking hours, rangers will continually monitor the CBD parking demand in the lead up to Christmas there will be an increased focus on customer service by assisting the public who are unfamiliar with the CBD,” Mr Brennan said.
On-street parking will remain unchanged.
