AFTER 28 years building a reputation as some of the best in the business, Bunbury Hifi’s owners have sold up.
Brothers Vince and Tony Macri yesterday officially handed over their business to Cheryl and Ben Kozisek who have been Bunbury residents for 15 years.
The Macri brothers decided after many years of hard work it was time for retirement and said it will be strange when they don’t have to get up and go to work.
Cheryl Kozisek said it was a new challenge and they were looking forward to putting their own stamp on the business.
The Macri brothers have offered services extending beyond selling home entertainment systems – they have also helped coordinate home installation and designed built-in cabinetry.
“Service is more important than the product you sell,” Mr Macri said.
“We had kept up with the changing markets and have been proud of the customer service awards we have won.”
Ms Kozisek has her own interior design business and this is part of what drew them to purchase Bunbury Hifi.
Her expertise as a designer can be used as an extended service that can be offered to customers purchasing home entertainment systems.
Ms Kozisek will be able to design the cabinetry to suit the space, use an in house cabinet maker and have their staff fit the entertainment system.
They will be taking on the same staff, keeping the large range of world renowned brands as well as introducing a range of vinyl records and players.
“We hope to draw in a younger market as well,” Mr Kozisek said.
“It will be a great opportunity to give the business a fresh new look.”
The business will also relocate to a more prominent location at 73 Spencer Street on March 17.
