HAWAIIAN Ride for Youth cyclists stopped at Bunbury Senior High School today as part of their tour to inform students about mental health.
They began their journey in Albany on Tuesday and will make their way to Perth to finish in Kings Park tomorrow.
When they arrived in Bunbury this morning they had ridden 480 kilometres of the 700 kilometre journey.
Each rider had their own story as to why they had joined the tour and they got behind fundraising for months before the ride.
It was cyclist John Gardner's second year participating in the tour and he had chosen his company to sponsor the event this year.
"It is essential to break down the stigma of mental health so young people feel supported," Mr Gardner said.
"The money raised goes directly to supporting and paying for counsellor's in regional schools in WA."
The Hawaiian Ride for Youth began in 2003 when a small group of recreational cyclists decided to raise funds for Youth Focus to assist in the prevention of youth suicide, depression and self-harm.
Since the inception in 2003 it has raised over $10 million and in 2015 alone they have raised over $2 million.
