A team of police divers will join the search for a man missing in the ocean off Esperance.
The 26-year-old from Perth is believed to have been taking photographs of the Chapman Point area when he lost his footing and fell into the ocean on Friday afternoon.
Friends and a local surfer tried to rescue him but couldn't reach the man.
The police were alerted and local marine rescue and surf lifesaving volunteers went to the scene, however the man could not be found.
The search was abandoned when darkness fell but began again on Saturday morning with Volunteer Marine Rescue personnel searching the ocean and SES volunteers searching the area using a helicopter and shoreline patrols.
On Saturday afternoon police said they were planning to resume the search at first light on Sunday by which time a team of police divers will have arrived at the scene.
