THE South West Football League will be out to win its fifth consecutive title at the Landmark Country Football Championships this year.
The side of 30 – which was selected on Monday night – is made up of some of the best talent the South West Football League has to offer, with the top-of-the-table Eaton Boomers and third-placed Carey Park Panthers headlining the list.
Eaton have the most players representing the South West with seven selected to play, while Carey Park has six.
The Bunbury Bulldogs and Collie Eagles also have strong showings with four players from each side set to don the green and gold at the carnival.
Donnybrook’s hot start to the year sees them with three players picked, while South Bunbury (two players) and Busselton (one) also contribute to the side.
There are no representatives from the Harvey Bulls and Harvey-Brunswick Leschenault in the side.
South West head coach and former Hayward medallist Jaime Nani said the side was excited to take on the carnival.
“The boys have all been really responsive and we’re pretty pumped,” he said.
“We think we’ve got a really strong side and we’re looking forward to it.”
The future of the SWFL appears bright, with an array of young talent named to the side.
Brandon Jetta, Denholm King and Jayce Fontana have all been rewarded for their excellent start to the 2015 season.
Eaton’s Will Oelsnik will again captain the side, while Donnybrook’s Simon Parry has been selected as vice captain.

Earlier this season fans of the SWFL and the Footy HQ - WA Facebook page voted to say who they would like to represent the league at the Landmark Country Football Championships.
The final side picked by the fans, pictured below, is quite a bit different from the selected team.
