BUNBURY couple Jodie and Jason Stripe only have a few low-quality photos taken on mobile phones to remember their wedding day.
The couple married in March 2014, hiring a local photographer to capture their special day.
But the pair never received the photos they paid for.
“We contacted her (the photographer) and she kept telling us that the photos were coming, but they never came,” Mrs Stripe said.
“So then we went to Consumer Protection, but they weren’t able to get in touch with her either.”
But now, the Bunbury community has pitched in to help recreate the wedding.
Century 21 Advance Realty director Clinton Knop got in touch with Mrs Stripe after coming across her story on Facebook.
He asked to post the couple’s story on his business page and make a call-out for community support.
“I was just scrolling through Facebook one night and it showed up in my newsfeed,” Mr Knop said.
“It really got through to me and I knew we had to help out in some way.”
After receiving an overwhelming response from the community, Mr Knop asked if the couple would like their wedding recreated.
“Clint came to me and said that the community support had been beyond belief and asked if we would like to re-do our wedding,” Mrs Stripe said.
“I was over the moon and the generosity really blew me away.”
A number of businesses and community members have thrown their support behind the couple.
Limousines, photographers, wedding planners, cake makers and decorators have all offered their services to the couple.
Mrs Stripe said the support had restored her faith in the community.
