The South West Football League in conjunction with Dale Alcock Homes and the Hayward Family have presented the league's fairest and best player with this prize since 1946.
The team from Footy HQ – WA have spent some time going through their coverage of season 2015 to establish who the umpires may have awarded votes to in each game.
If our predictions are correct then Carey Park’s Graham Jetta will be leading halfway through the count before Busselton’s Chris Kane comes storming home to claim the medal.
Jetta has been touted as a Hayward Medal favourite all season with a number of best on ground performances.
But will the Panther's star share the votes with goal-kicking machine Matt Martin too many times to finish with the highest total?
Josh Krispyn from the Harvey Bulls, Busselton captain Dan McGinlay and last year’s runner up Chris Atthowe from Eaton are also in contention.
Here is our predicted top 10.
Busselton’s Chris Kane had a quiet start to the year but as the year wore on he began to shine.
He finds space well and is effective with the ball when it is in his hands.
He could top score votes in a number of games along with captain Dan McGinlay.
A dominant force at Carey Park, Graham Jetta has explosive pace through the midfield and often leaves great defenders in his wake.
He has also provided some handy shots on goal and we will hear “G. Jetta, 3 votes” a number of times on Tuesday night.
Carey Park’s Matt Martin does not have a great record at polling Hayward votes but he may have been noticed by the umpires this year with another outstanding goal kicking performance.
He regularly ends games averaging more than a goal a quarter and is capable of laying big tackles.
Harvey co-captain Josh Krispyn has been a big part of the Bulls resurgence this year.
He can play in the midfield, or forward, and has a way of getting the hard ball.
Busselton’s captain and a model of consistency Dan McGinlay is another player who will poll slowly in the opening rounds and then explode.
Footy HQ – WA predicts him to poll in every match between rounds six and 11 with three possible best-on-ground performances.
A late injury may cost him the votes required to walk away with the medal.
Eaton’s Chris Atthowe finished second to Jesse Gribble in last year’s count and is sure to attract the umpire’s praise again this year.
His work rate is second to none and he is a big part of his side's continued success.
Simon Parry is a great overhead mark and has helped lift his side to more success this season.
He is a stalwart in the Don’s midfield and when he fires, his side does too.
Eaton’s Jace Cormack is a small forward who put in a ripping performance at the Landmark Country Football Championships.
Locally he has been a force across half forward and has helped his side out of some tight spots.
Harvey’s Dan Leishman has real pace and can kick plenty of goals.
He is a really versatile player who uses his skills across a number of positions.
Eaton’s Kane Bloxsidge has stepped into a senior role for his side this season and leads by example.
He finds space well and delivers the ball to his teammates well.
