WITH Christmas fast approaching residents in Greater Bunbury are preparing to carry on the popular tradition of lighting up their homes for the festive season.
The Bunbury Mail is collecting street addresses and photos of homes that have gone the extra mile.
Dunstan Street has a long standing tradition of attracting a huge crowd to see their spectacular Christmas lights.
Resident Cherylynne Forrest said this year the South Bunbury Rotary Club was on board to take care of redirecting traffic in and around the area.
“The majority of the street gets on board to decorate their homes with lights and residents have already started,” Ms Forrest said.
“Now that Rotary is involved the community is benefiting from it in many ways.
“The lantern lighting will start around sunset on December 22, 23 and 24 for the community to come down the hill and enjoy all the lights.”
She said from December 12 all the homes should be decorated and she looked forward to seeing all the children enjoy the popular tradition.
