A DONATION centre has been set up in Bunbury to help those who lost everything in the Waroona fire.
Bunbury residents Deeane Mayne and Skye-Leigh McPherson have joined forces with the South West Italian Club to set up the donation centre which is filling quickly.
Ms Mayne said she hated feeling helpless while watching others lose everything.
"I just had to help, I could not just sit back and watch it on television so we joined forces and now we have almost filled the hall here," she said.
"People are coming in and there are so many strangers here doing amazing stuff and we are just sorting through everything.
"The whole experience is pretty overwhelming."
Ms Mayne said they were taking donations of small goods, toys, linen, unused toiletries, clothing and bikes.
Baby care like nappies are needed immediately as well as prams, portable cots and non perishable food.
"We are not looking for furniture or perishable food items please," she said.
"Please ensure donations of toiletries are still in packaging and are unused as we are having to throw away a number of used donations."
The donation centre is at the South West Italian Club on White Street in Bunbury.
It will be open tonight until 7pm, Saturday from 8am to 4pm and Sunday from 10am to 4pm.
"It is just people helping people," she said.
"We welcome all the help we can get over the next couple of days, just come and find us and help."
