A TRIBUTE concert for volunteer fire fighters is being planned to help raise money for the relief effort following the WA bushfires.
It is being organised as part of Greater Bunbury’s Good Nights event’s which links locals with live music from around Perth and the South West.
Good Nights organiser Kelsie Miller said she was inspired to help after seeing the community come together.
“As with everyone, it has been a shocking time and it is hard not to feel a bit helpless,” she said.
While a location is yet to be confirmed for Sing for the South West, about 10 local artists had already confirmed and donated their time for event with more still coming in.
Ms Miller said she was expecting a large crowd for the concert.
Tickets are on sale for $20 each but there is the option of buying a $30 ticket to make a larger donation.
“People can also buy a $40 ticket which includes a ticket for a volunteer fire fighter,” she said.
“The concert is not until March so it should be enough time for the fire fighters to get settled and for them to come and enjoy an evening of music on us.”
She said she looked to local musicians to get involved.
"Musicians from the South West would be best as we have a tight-knit community down here who are massively keen to rally together to support our own," Ms Miller said.
She said she was still looking for local musicians to get involved and any businesses who wanted to donate prizes and cash donations for the cause.
Sing for the South West is on March 12 from 4pm with a location to be confirmed.
