DALYELLUP Beach, Colts and Hay Park all claimed wins in the LGM Industries Bunbury and District Cricket Association’s return to the 50-over format.
The round was the first regular season fixture held since December 12, with Christmas, Country Week and Twenty20 all forming a large break from one-day games.
Dalyellup Beach took down Collie thanks to a half-century from Tim Cooper and an impressive 76 from Steve Denison.
Collie opened the batting posting an impressive score of 207, but Dalyellup Beach chased down the total.
The Leschenault Green Caps were also unable to defend their first innings total as they were beaten by Colts.
Matt Buchanan led Leschenault’s batsmen with 24 runs but Tim Hutchison’s four-wicket haul allowed Colts to keep the Green Caps’ total to just 164 from 50 overs.
Ian Prosser shone for the Colts batting order.
Despite losing fellow opener James Middleton for just five runs, Prosser starred with 62 to lead his side to victory with few overs remaining.
In a mirror image of the Twenty20 grand final result, Hay Park beat Eaton in their return to 50-over matches thanks to some Ross Knoll brilliance.
Knoll managed a century for Hay Park, hitting 100 runs from just 81 deliveries.
Mark Steven helped Knoll pile on the runs with 90 of his own, lifting Hay Park to a score of 4/248 from 50 overs.
Luke Morien’s 50 runs for Eaton was not enough to will his side to striking distance, as the Beavers were dismissed for 167 runs in the 40th over.
