THE teenage girl who needed to be revived following an overdose at the Groovin' The Moo festival has regained consciousness and is talking.
The 15-year-old, who is believed to be from Sydney, collapsed on Saturday afternoon.
Police say if it was not for the quick work of paramedics at the festival, the girl would not have survived.
Detectives are expected to speak with the girl and her family on Sunday, and will seek an explanation from festival organisers.
A Groovin' The Moo spokesperson has failed to make any comment about the girl's near-death overdose, or of a teenage boy who was also hospitalised.
He has since been discharged.
Police arrested 36 people for drug possession at the festival.

Suspected overdoses at Groovin' the Moo
Two teenagers have been rushed to hospital after suspected drug overdoses at a music festival in the NSW Hunter region on Saturday.
At about 2.30pm ambulance officers responded to reports a girl had suffered a suspected drug overdose at the Groovin' the Moo musical festival in Maitland, north of Newcastle.
A spokeswoman for NSW Ambulance said the girl was taken by road ambulance to the John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle in a critical condition.
At about the same time another male, also a teenager, was transported to Maitland Hospital, also suffering a suspected drug overdose.
The exact ages of both teenagers have not been confirmed.
Fairfax Media has contacted the festival organisers for comment.
Saturday was the first leg of the popular regional festival. It will travel to Canberra on Sunday before moving on to Oakbank in South Australia, Bendigo, Townsville and Bunbury.
Seven people have died after allegedly overdosing on drugs at music festivals across Australia in the past year.
A 25-year-old woman died at the Stereosonic festival in Sydney in December, and a 19-year-old man died at the event's Adelaide leg.
