YOU may be excited for Groovin The Moo, but you’d be hard-pressed to hit the nervous levels of excitement four-piece heavy-metal punk band Longshore are at after they were asked to take to the stage.
After the Bunbury band uploaded their single Masterpieces, Ross Day, Joel Morgan, Jaymon Bromley, and Ricky Signorini were contacted by a Groovin The Moo promoter asking for Longshore to perform at this year’s festival.
Bassist Jaymon Bromley said the opportunity was a complete no-brainer.
“We were like, duh, yeah of course we want to,” he said.
“It would be ridiculous to turn down an opportunity like that.”
The group have supported some some big-names including the Welsh alternative-rock band Funeral for a Friend and Confession.
But for Longshore, GTM is their biggest gig to date and they’re feeling the nerves.
“We’re very, very nervous but we’ve also began to notice a lot of attention since the announcement,” said Jaymon.
“Lately we’ve began to get a bit more traction.”
Guitarist Joel Morgan said he’s even began to get some attention at work, with random people beginning to recognise him via Longshore.
“We’ll probably come together to chill and relax, maybe play something to get the nerves out, a bit of Teenage Dirtbag or something.”

Before the performance the band hope push their title a little further into the music scene, the group will be trying to find a “place of zen” to belt out the performance of a lifetime.

“We realise how fragile a band can be, if something bad is going to happen, it will happen,” said Joel.
Longshore understand the niche appeal of their heavy metal music and when they write, they write music they would like to listen to while staying true to the genre and attracting a different type of audience.
“We’re constantly writing music and we always try to appeal to someone who wouldn’t necessarily listen to heavy music normally,” said Jaymon.
“Corey Taylor from Slipknot has had a massive influence on me, but we always try and find new sounds,” said Ross.
