Young students from Harvey Primary School had a chance to receive sports coaching from Bunbury students enrolled with Sports Education and Development Australia.
SEDA South West teacher Jeremy Barraclough said the program has been run in the region for three years and has proved to be a great way for high school students who enjoy learning in a hands on way to get involved in sport while completing their education.
“The SEDA students spend Monday on work placement, three days in the classroom and Fridays coaching sport in local primary schools,” he said. “This year we have done more than 30 sports clinics in 12 schools which has helped to get junior students active and builds the confidence of the senior students who are considering careers in sport and education.”
