It was a very happy birthday for Patricia – Pat – Martinson on Wednesday, September 14, when she turned 100 years old.
With the help of Bethanie Fields Lifestyle Coordinator, Christie Murray and Pat’s son Graham, Pat was picked up in a classic 1929 Plymouth by a member of the Bunbury Vintage Car Club of WA for a centenary tour that took her on a surprise trip into Bunbury.
Pat took a stroll down memory lane when they stopped at Bunbury Senior High School, the school Pat spent many years as a biology teacher.
School Principal, Craige Pettit gathered with students at the front of the school to welcome Pat.
Bethanie Fields Lifestyle Coordinator, Christie Murray said as Pat returned to the car she proudly announced, “I am 100, people,” which was followed by a loud cheer from students and Bethanie staff.
“From putting on her purple birthday girl sash to watching the vintage car arrive, Pat was smiling from ear to ear the entire day,” said Ms Murray.
