Anna Coventry and Emma English are becoming known around town for their romping singles nights, helping lonely hearts find love.
But now the pair want to use what they’ve established to benefit a more worthy cause.
A portion of the proceeds from the next Red Carpet WA singles night on October 7 will be donated to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Western Australia.
Red Carpet WA founder Anna Coventry said her personal experiences with multiple sclerosis drove the group to take an increased philanthropic approach to their singles events.
“I have family members with MS, so I understand the situation better than most and it definitely requires funds,” she said.
MS sufferer Kate Gild said the donations would be useful in giving sufferers and carers a much needed break.
“The more donations and awareness that can be created means more can be done to help, it gives everyone a little bit of a breather,” Ms Gild said.
“But it’s not just about people with MS, there are a lot of people suffering with other neurological conditions the MS Society can help with these funds and even the smallest amount is useful.”
Red Carpet WA isn’t the only business getting around the cause, with Bar51 and Church View Estate donating to the MS Society.
Anna Coventry said they were ramping the singles evenings up a notch to gain more traction.
“We’ve decided to take it up a little more with wine and cheese tasting, live music, and interactive activities,” she said.
“According to the feedback we’re getting, people enjoy the safe, relaxing environment to meet other singles without first date awkwardness.”
