Have you ever looked at the purple and green mishmash material adorning Perth public transport seats and thought "gee, I'd like that on a shirt"?
Neither have we, but one innovative university student is still determined to make it happen - despite his idea being all but shot down by Transperth.
University student Declan Burke started a gofundme last week to begin raising money for his ambitious new fashion venture, which involved printing the Transperth fabric onto shirts, shorts and raincoats.
But his plan has hit a snag; he will have to pay $3000 for copyright before he can start production.
"$3000 is the figure I was told for the Transperth lawyers to look over and approve a Trademark Licensing Agreement for my use of the pattern," he said.
Mr Burke is now calling on the Perth public to support his venture, and has appealed to the public to "chip in a twenty".
"I grew up in Perth, and I have spent countless hours on Transperth services - on my way to work, school, parties, university, and to see friends," he said.
"I want people be proud of these trains and buses that get us to work, rescue us when we're still munted at 6am, take us to school, and I think a good way of doing this is to make it fashionable."
A few donors have already been convinced to hand over a bit of cash.
"If Transperth were smart, they'd already be selling their own branded merchandise," one said.
"Thank goodness for Declan for filling the void."
Some versions of the shirt have previously appeared online, but Mr Burke is determined to make his use of the pattern legal.
"Sure, they're going to be the same pattern as any other all-over print of the pattern, but this will be legally sold, and won't be taken down," he said.
Transperth, however, have failed to see the lighter side of Mr Burke's dream, with Public Transport Authority spokesman David Hynes telling WAtoday the authority did not conduct negotiations through the media.
"We are in the public transport business, not the clothing industry," he said.
"Our predominant focus is ensuring we continue to deliver a first class public transport experience for the people of WA."
