Payne Park will turn purple this weekend for Bunbury’s annual Relay For Life.
Every year, Relay For Life Bunbury-Southwest features hundreds of participants joining in a 24 hour relay in support of Cancer Council research into a cure.
In 2015, more than $270,000 were raised which took the event’s fundraising total past $3.2 million.
The event begins at 11am on Saturday with an opening ceremony followed by the first lap of the oval undertaken by cancer survivors and their carers.
At 8pm, there will be a candlelight ceremony to remember those who have lost their journey with cancer.
Participants will be given the chance to light a candle or present an offering for a lost loved one.
The event promises to deliver all the usual fun with plenty of activities to keep teams occupied while they take a break from the track.
There is also a video of the turn-around dance available on the Relay For Life Bunbury-Southwest Facebook page that teams can practice.
