WA women looking for the perfect man need not look any further than Bunbury, according to a recent dating survey.
The regional city was the only WA location to make it on to EliteSingles’ list of Australia’s most monogamous hot spots.
While it may appear that New South Wales is the country’s most monogamous state – raking in half the top 10 spots – Bunbury ranked second only to Dubbo.
The study was based on data collated from 13,000 Aussie males registered with EliteSingles and the dating website looked at how closely respondents agreed with the statement: ‘I believe monogamy is essential in a relationship’.
“Unfortunately, many women have been cheated on in the past which has made them doubt the existence of men who believe in monogamy,” EliteSingles psychologist Salama Marine said.
“Being cheated on is horrible. Unsurprisingly, it makes many people question the fidelity of men in general.
“But they shouldn’t allow it to let them lose faith in love.
“While many women have been unlucky enough to have been cheated on by someone they trusted, there are actually still plenty of men out there who do value monogamy and want to build a lasting and loving relationship.”
