Johnny Cash: The Concert is headed back to Bunbury in what producers ensure will be a show like no other.
Singer Daniel Thompson said the Walk the Line tour will feature all the Cash songs as performed in the hit movie and on its Grammy Award winning soundtrack as well as hits from Johnny Cash’s entire stellar career.
“We do make an effort to give them something different each time around by changing the show up a little bit. I mean, Johnny Cash just has so many great songs.”
“We’re giving them good quality music and you just don’t get much better than that.” The Man in Black team said they couldn’t wait to get back on the road in Bunbury. “We love coming to the west coast, it’s a really beautiful part of the world. It’s not somewhere us east-coasters get to come to often so we take a day or two to have a look around which we don’t get the chance to anywhere else,” Thompson said.
Thompson teams up with Australian guitar legend Stuie French to take the show on its fifth national tour following a sold-out, one night only performance at the Sydney Opera House last year.
The Concert teams up with the Tennessee Express and some of Australian Country Music’s finest female singers including Golden Guitar Winner Camille Te Nahu to bring to life some of the great Johnny Cash and June Carter duets.
“I’d like the audience to get a glimpse of what it was like to see Johnny Cash live. Unfortunately we don’t have that privilege anymore but if people get an insight into a Johnny Cash concert, well, that makes me happy,” Thompson said. The show will be at the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre on April 7. Tickets can be purchased from bunburyentertainment.com.au
