A love of pasta and pizza for a Collie couple has led them to a new business adventure in Eaton.
Mark and Di Powell owned a pizza shop in Collie and were interested in branching out when the opportunity to take on a new Pasta Cup franchise at Eaton Fair came up.
The idea of freshly-made pasta with a mouth-watering array of flavours was too appetising to pass up. Taking a prime location in the food court area at Eaton Fair, Mark and Dianne set the wheels of the pasta machine in motion and opened the doors in late April.
Mr Powell said the response has been overwhelming
“Considering we haven’t done a lot of advertising, we’ve been really surprised with the response,” he said.
“It’s been phenomenal. We’re going through about 12 kilograms of pasta a day, seven days a week.
“The hardest part is keeping up with it.”
The Powells decided to completely embrace the Eaton lifestyle and have moved into a unit above their shop, leaving their family in Collie. They have employed several local people at their new business.
Pasta Cup offers freshly-made pasta every day. From penne to papardelle, from spaghetti to spinach fettucine, there is something for every pasta lover. To top it all off, customers can chose from a dazzling array of 27 different sauce flavours, freshly prepared daily.
And the most popular pasta in Eaton according to Mr Powell? Gnocchi.
Pasta Cup Eaton is only the second Pasta Cup store in regional WA, with the other in Geraldton.
Pasta Cup is open from 11am to 9.30pm seven days a week with online ordering and a delivery service available through pastacup.com.au.
