RSPCA WA say they have experienced a "horror" 48 hours after five cases of animal cruelty were reported over a two day period.
The news comes after 'Jack' was found by an inspector in the early hours of Tuesday morning on a Geraldton street, suffering from extensive burns to his belly, legs, face and paws.
The organisation announced it would now offer a $1000 reward for information that leads to the successful prosecution of the person responsible for attacking Jack the dog, who was put down after suffering significant burns.
RSPCA WA chief inspector Amanda Swift urged anyone with information to contact the Cruelty Hotline so the perpetrator could be held accountable.
"Somebody in Geraldton knows who did this to Jack. I'm asking them to do the right thing and come forward," she said.
Meanwhile in Perth's south, neighbours attempted to intervene in an owner's brutal attack on their seven-month-old puppy on Thursday morning.
It is understood neighbours called the RSPCA Inspector after attempting to get in the middle, and an inspector attended the scene and seized the young animal.
The current extent of the puppy's injuries is not known, although the RSPCA confirmed he had been admitted into surgery.
Also on Thursday, a foal had to be put down after it was found emaciated and completely alone in a Bunbury paddock.
It's believed the foal may have been left to die after it had collapsed due to its serious injuries.
The foal was taken to a local vet for assessment by an attending inspector, but it was put down immediately.
In Mandurah, an inspector seized a cat that was found to be suffering from large tumours on its head and body.
The tumours were untreated to the point where they had been infested with maggots, seeping pus and bleeding.
The cat also had to be put down by a local vet immediately.
In Perth's northeast, an inspector seized a dog found to be suffering from the skin disease mange.
The dog is currently in the RSPCA's Animal Care Centre in Malaga and is expected to make a full recovery.
A RSPCA WA spokeswoman said in all five cases, inspectors were working to gather evidence and press charges under the Animal Welfare Act (2002).
Chief inspector Amanda Swift said while the sheer number of cases in the two day period were "heartbreaking" the organisation wished to thank those who reported the animals to the RSPCA.
"While it is sad that animals are still suffering needlessly, it is heartening to know that the messages about rejecting animal cruelty are getting through. Thank you to the people who took action and reported these acts of cruelty - you are the real heroes," she said.
"The images we have been able to share are hard to look at. But this is the reality of what goes on in our communities and what the Inspectors are confronted with on a daily basis.
"Each of these cases is heartbreaking but that's what keeps us going. Every case adds additional pressure but we need you to keep up the good work being our eyes and ears on the ground, and providing a voice for defenceless animals in need."
