Fremantle Dockers women’s coach Michelle Cowan will headline Rando & Associates’ upcoming fundraising drive for cancer support service, Dot’s Place.
The Bunbury-based financial consultancy’s fourth annual women’s health and wellness day will be held at the Sanctuary Golf Club on October 27.
Rando & Associates’ continual fundraising efforts through the women’s health initiative has generated more than $15,000 for Dot’s Place since 2014.
“We’ve forged a strong relationship with Dot’s Place over the years,” managing director Mark Rando said.
“The Cancer Council WA team in the South West working at Dot’s Place do great work within the community and we admire them for it.
“The women’s health and wellness day acknowledges the importance of supporting women’s health, while helping a great cancer support service.
“We hope the community can come together and help raise more than $10,000 on the day.”
Cowan, who was also a guest speaker at last year’s event, will relive her inspirational story to becoming a pioneer of Australian women’s football while cancer survivor Andrea Deane is set to recount how she overcame an unexpected breast cancer diagnosis.
Mrs Deane, a long-time Brunswick resident, will also outline her pursuit to upgrade mammogram machine equipment in Bunbury.
Event attendees will be treated to a gourmet lunch and local champagne, while a charitable auction will also be held.
