Round four of the 2017/18 Bunbury and Districts Cricket Association competition saw Eaton’s A-grade side get home against Dalyellup Beach.
Eaton won the toss, elected to bat and started promisingly with opening batsmen Matthew Davies (14) and Don Seaman (19).
The batting sides form picked up throughout the innings as James Hillery (35) and Clayton Caltsounis (79) helped their side reach 194.
Dalyellup Beach bowler Rodney Shemeld has figures of 3/54 from 10 overs, while Corey Fagan impressed with 2/17 from seven overs.
Dalyellup Beach were 2/23 in their innings before Justin Woods blasted 54 runs from 89 balls.
Mitchell Boyle and Woods were trapped LBW in quick succession, stranding their side on 6/109.
Despite the lower order’s efforts, Dalyellup Beach were caught out on 164.
Eaton bowlers Steven Barron (3/30 from 10 overs) and Clint Hewson (3/25 from 3.4 overs) aided the side’s 30 run victory.
Collie batted first against Marist and opener Brayden Kent was bowled early by Jack Wilson for 10.
Top order batsman Thomas Plummer answered Collie’s prayers, knocking 64 runs (including nine fours and two sixes).
After Plummer’s dismissal, Austin Kent (36) and Greg Tomasini (43) kept the runs ticking over.
Marist’s batting order has a mountain to climb, chasing Collie’s 9/245 onslaught.
Max Bryant (6), Sam Roots (10) and Kyle Davis (10) dismissals left Marist on 3/26 early on.
Ben Shipley’s 32-run haul was not enough, with Marist sent packing for 142.
Collie bowlers Brayden Kent (2/11) and Mark Williams (2/30) debilitated Marist’s run chase as Collie claimed a 103 run victory.
Colts opening batsmen Connor Ipsen (0) and Jayden Goodwin (0) were caught napping in their clash with Leschenault on Saturday, both dismissed without scoring.
Tim Raglan stepped up to the crease and took charge, hitting 59 runs from 103 balls.
Jordan Stynes (45) and Joe Barningham (20) helped the Colts end its innings comfortably on 9/196.
Leschenault’s James Letchford starred for his side, taking two wickets for 15 runs and two catches.
Leschanult’s opening batsmen, Jarrad Quinn (26) and Luke Slater (15), got their side off to a promising start.
Kurt D'Agostino (3) and Matt Buchanan(4)’s dismissals put their side on 4/54, giving Colts the upper hand.
Despite the lower order’s tenacity, Leschenault were eventually bowled out for 131.
