A 43-year old South Bunbury man has been arrested and charged with two counts of stealing after a number of charity tins were taken from Centerpoint Shopping Centre over the past fortnight.
Bunbury police office-in-charge Senior Sergeant Peter Jenal said the man handed himself into the police station on Wednesday as a result of the media involvement.
"The support from the community has been overwhelming and we thank everyone for their assistance," he said.
"Any businesses who have charity tins on display should secure them to the counter to ensure they are not taken."
The man will face the Bunbury Magistrates Court later this month.
