Connections of Roger Charlton's Quest For More booked the emerging rider in the $6 million race.
Lane, 21, who had a three-month stint riding in Hong Kong earlier this year, will partner the six-year-old British stayer after he beat home only one horse in last week's Geelong Cup.
Tommy Berry had been confirmed as the preferred partner of Quest For More earlier this month but will stick with Trip To Paris after riding Ed Dunlop's horse to second place in the Caulfield Cup.
Lane's stocks have risen in recent months after his Hong Kong experience where he booted home a $245 winner.
He is currently ranked as the fourth best jockey in Victoria where he is now based.
He has returned to Bunbury the past two years on Bunbury Cup day to ride in the state of origin race.
He also ticked off his first group one winner this year when Trust In A Gust won the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes.
