The Bunbury Trotting Club was alight on Saturday as a 2,500 strong crowd turned out to recognise Dr Manea’s hand in regional, national and international racing.
Bunbury Trotting Club manager Julie Caldwell said the people involved in the racing industry are what bring it to life and are also recognised through special events such as the Dr Ern Manea Day.
The City of Bunbury held a ceremony to unveil a plaque dedicated to Dr Manea and his wife Beulah.
A 300-page book on the life of Dr Manea, titled Manea: The Story of a Remarkable Life, was also launched as part of the ceremony.
