CRICKET: While normally at home in blue and red, the boys from the Eaton Cricket Club will don pink cricketing whites for their clash against Marist on Saturday to raise money the McGrath Foundation’s pink stump day.
The cause is close to the hearts of everyone at the team with canteen manager and former clubperson of the year Kate Swayne and former club treasurer Alison Paterson both breast cancer survivors.
“The two ladies have been involved with the club for years and are very hard workers,” club secretary Tanya Fogarty said.
The club is planning a family fun day of activities to complement their fundraising efforts.
“Through the support of our generous sponsors we will be offering a bouncy castle, water slide, fairy floss and a sausage sizzle,” Ms Fogarty said.
“We hope the whole family will come and support the day and everyone will be dressed in pink.”
The club has set themselves a fundraising target of $1000 but is hoping to raise more.
The game, at Forrest Park North, commences at 12.30pm.
