WATERPOLO: The Bunbury women’s water polo team tasted success on the weekend after defending their WA Country Water Polo championship title in a close match against Geraldton with an 11-9 win.
Former Australian representative Kylie English was dominant for the Bunbury side with six goals earning her the match most valuable player award.
Geraldton never slipped more than two points down in the match but it was the Bunbury side who came out on top.
The Bunbury men however weren’t so lucky going down to Geraldton 10-5.
The men’s side did not go home completely empty handed with Jack Deschamp earning the match most valuable player for outstanding defence.
Outstanding players will travel to Woy Woy in New South Wales this May to represent WA at the national championship.
