The news comes as local production company Vue Group continues its work towards shooting a film locally with the team behind the Oscar winning movie The King’s Speech, as well as producing a series of Chinese animation films.
It was not long ago that the idea of creative industries in the South West was nothing but a pipe dream, but recent calls to diversify our local economy are encouraging.
Mr Freckelton believes animation and visual effects are international industries and there is no reason the next generation of professionals can’t set up shop in Bunbury.
It would be fantastic if our young people could study these creative disciplines with the knowledge that they can live and work in the industry of choice in their home town.
