Collie can be counted on every season for a strong finish due to their outstandingly brutal game plan.
A hard, tough and physical brand of football allows them to stand up to every side in the competition.
Not one team leaves a game against Collie feeling fresh or without a nice shiny bruise and that will be where the Eagles take their advantage in the 2014 season.
It would seem Collie has lost a few players this offseason which could affect where they finish in 2014.
Paul Lindsay is the biggest out for the Eagles.
Lindsay’s dominance in both the ruck hitouts and around the ground will be sorely missed but the addition of Christian Pocklington from Subiaco will help replace Lindsay.
Liam Ryan proved to be an explosive young forward but will be replaced this year by Tony Mirabella.
However the loss of both Jebb Swallow and Blair Malatesta will diminish Collie’s half forward running ability greatly.
Kyle Shanahan will also be sorely missed.
However Collie hasn’t relied simply on personnel in the past and it’s hard to see them changing their ways for 2014.
Collie is about a defensive and physical game plan which coach Brett Earl employs well among his players.
Collie is always a contender and won’t be taken lightly this season.
