LAST Friday a Collie man was charged in Bunbury Magistrate's Court with a string of offences relating to several burglaries in Collie the previous day, and an earlier robbery in Arthur River.

The suspect stole a purse and an iPad from a woman's house in Coverley Drive between 4-7am on Friday when he entered the home after the woman left a door unlocked after smoking a cigarette outside.
The man then went to a nearby house in Harnett Street and tried to break open a safe in the house.
Despite several attempts he was only able to damage the safe but not break it open.
The police connected the suspect to the earlier Coverley Drive break in after he left some of the items used in the earlier burglary near the safe in Harnett Street where it appears he was disturbed during the robbery.
After matching his fingerprints to those of a previous robbery in Arthur River the police went to his residence on Thursday afternoon to arrest him but the suspect became aggressive.
The man was eventually subdued and taken into custody after he assaulted two police officers.
During interrogation, the suspect admitted to all three burglaries.
He was charged with two counts of aggravated burglary, one of burglary, obstructing police, assault on a public officer and giving false particulars.
The man was refused bail and remanded in custody to appear at a later date.
