The doors opened at 11am to 16 eager children of all ages. Over the next three hours, they embarked on creating their very own unique skateboard.
The children had great fun designing images which were then transferred onto stencils and spray painted onto the base of the board.
The other components were then applied to create the finished product of a totally functioning skateboard.
Ideas were put forward for a collective design that will later be screen printed onto a range of hoodies for all of the children involved.
Sponsored by Local Drug Action Group and the Shire of Nannup, this workshop was instrumental in encouraging children to take pride in their work, being resourceful and proactive with the added bonus of having something which they can keep and use in their leisure time either at home or at public spaces such as a skate park for years to come.
