BUNBURY student Sebastian Schiano Di Cola has made his voice heard for regional WA by participating in the YMCA youth parliament.
Representing his home electorate of Collie-Preston, Sebastian participated in three days of parliamentary debate and functions at Parliament House where the youth members considered a number of bills.
“This year regional WA had a big voice in the youth parliament from all walks of life and together we were able to pass the regional skills development scheme bill,” he said.
“Our bill was aimed at assisting regional WA students to address the skills shortage throughout the state.”
On the final day the group attended a morning tea with City of Perth deputy lord mayor Rob Ryan who presented the youth parliament awards ceremony.
Sebastian won the Lord Mayor’s Leadership award for his work in the program.
“It would be great to see more South West students involved in this program to make sure that regional WA has a big voice in future youth parliaments,” Sebastian said.
