DO you own the cutest pooch in Bunbury?
If you do, you have the chance to win yourself a new car!
All pooches great and small will be making their way to PETstock in Bunbury on October 11 to vie for the title of Australia’s Cutest Dog.
Claiming the title will see one dog win their lucky owner a brand new car.
Store manager Corey Thomas said the team was expecting dozens of entrants for the competition, with a national prize pool totalling more than $65,000 and loads of other cheeky giveaways along the way too.
“We’re inviting Bunbury residents to visit our store at 138 Blair Street with their leashed buddy to have their dog photographed for the competition,” Mr Thomas said.
“We want to see our local pooches working it for the camera and showcasing their best features for the judges, so a dog from Bunbury can go all the way to the top.”
The local store winner will receive a $250 PETstock gift card and progress to the state final, where they will compete for a $1,000 PETstock gift card and a spot in the national final.
From now until the big day, the Bunbury Mail will put together a photo gallery of Bunbury's cutest pooches. Post your pooch to our Facebook page, email it to editor.bunburymail@fairfaxmedia.com.au or post it on Instagram with the hashtag #bunburypooch Make sure you include your pet's name along with his owner's name.
National finalists will then be judged by an expert panel to award the winning pooch’s owner with a luxury-spec Renault Koleos 4x2 Petrol CTV Bose Edition, valued at $34,990, and bragging rights for years to come.
“The Renault Koleos Bose Edition is a great set of wheels for dogs to coast along in, so we’re really excited to give locals the opportunity to enter and potentially win a new family car,” Mr Thomas said.
“Getting out on the weekends and enjoying time with our pets is important, so we hope this fantastic car will inspire some great adventures.”
But what does it take to be Australia’s Cutest Dog?
“This is a chance to celebrate the natural beauty of Australia’s dogs in their many varied forms,” he said.
“There is no winning formula, but if there’s one piece of advice I can give entrants, it’s to encourage your dog to showcase their personality.
“We want to see ‘puppy dog eyes’ in the photos”.
PETstock offers a huge range of products for furry, feathery and scaly buddies and the friendly team is knowledgeable across all areas of pet care.
Additionally, customers can take advantage of twenty per cent off all super premium foods across the weekend, as PETstock celebrates their Birthday Catalogue Sale.
The event will take place on October 11 from 11am to 3pm.
