EDITORIAL: As mentioned in our article in the Bunbury Mail's November 26 edition, our coverage of motorbike safety over the last two months has generated more feedback from the community than any other issue this year.
Our inbox has been flooded with letters from across the region, the state, over east and even overseas.
There has been a fair amount of criticism towards the idea to regularly re-test motorcyclists – a proposal generated by a group of local riders, business owners and police.
Some people have said raising such an idea was discrimination against motorbike riders.
The important thing to remember is that this is the reason we raise local issues and ideas – to generate discussion.
The more we talk about it, the more ideas we come up with, the better equipped we are to make a positive change.
Let’s keep the conversation going and see if we can curb the growing road toll.
