COLLIE Swimming Club was part of the 2014 South West Region One Carnival held at the South West Sports Centre on Sunday.
Some of the state's most outstanding swimmers from powerful clubs such as Peel Aquatic, Mandurah, Bunbury Golden West Dolphins and Busselton competed against smaller centres such as Harvey, Margaret River and Collie to reward the region's best swimmers.
Collie finished the day with some fabulous results that made supervising coach Shirley Crowe immensely proud.
The Collie swimming team has been travelling to Darkan on weeknights to access a pool as they try to prepare themselves for the 2015 championship campaign.
Their hard work and commitment resulted in many impressive results and times that will no doubt be a boost to their confidence.
The Collie team welcomed young Darkan swimmers Bronwyn and Mackenzie Goss, as well as Amy Kirk to their team on the weekend and all the girls were impressive in their swims and learnt a great deal from the competition.
Liam Shepherd, 13, was courageous in his first competitive swim meet, contesting four events against top quality swimmers.
Tiffany Latham swam away with two gold medals in the 100m fly and 200m breaststroke, as well as three silver medals in the over 17 category competition to top off a great meet.

Kelsey Salmeri took gold in the 200m backstroke, bronze in the 100m freestyle and swam four personal best times, showing she is set for a good season.
Sam Salmeri had a massive eight event program, bravely tackling some big endurance events such as the 200m individual medley and 200m freestyle in open company that saw him weary by the day's end.
He took home two bronze medals in the 100m breaststroke and 50m freestyle and was just off his peak form in the water.
Layla Uren showed amazing tenacity in the 100m butterfly to claim bronze in the gruelling event and swam well in all her other events.
Emma Bentley and Georgia Uren were impressive in their events amid some tough competition from top competitors, with both girls achieving a number of personal bests.
Teya Hollins continues to work hard in the pool and was rewarded with some impressive early season times that she can build on as the year continues.
Daniel Bentley finished exceptionally well in all of his races, showing that his strength and fitness is developing superbly and he was just out of medal contention.
Brady and Morgan Becker were both explosive competitors off the blocks and had fantastic swims in every event they contested; their vocal sibling cheer squad inspiring them to great performances in the water.
Murray Uren was sensational on the microphone as he hosted the prestigious event, making sure the Collie swimmers got plenty of attention during the race commentary.
His comic humour and musical taste provided the Collie Swimming Club with excellent publicity and it is believed he is now re-negotiating his contract with the club treasurer in lieu of broadcasting offers that may result.
