Lovett remains undefeated in the US and added a ninth knockout from 11 wins, bringing down the veteran American with a vicious right cross less than midway through the opening round in Mississippi.
Unable to find regular fights in Australia, the 29-year-old light heavyweight relocated to Houston last year to pursue his dream of a world title. The former AIS boxer could only manage seven fights in almost three years in Australia, but has already had five bouts in 11 months in the US.
Lovett's previous fight had been a no result after he suffered a badly cut eye in a head clash, returning to Canberra over Christmas where he continued his training.
Lovett was a training and sparring partner of world champion Daniel Geale in Australia, before moving to the US in search of opportunities.
