A CITIZEN'S arrest landed a man in police custody after he crashed a car into a power pole on Hamilton Road in Eaton last night.

Residents heard a loud smash as the man drove his car into the pole near the intersection with Foster Street about 8pm on Monday night.
The crash left live wires from the power pole across the road and caused several houses in the area to lose power.
The man allegedly tried to run from the scene but was caught and held by a community member until the police arrived.
He was taken back to Bunbury Police Station for further questioning.
Police blocked the area to traffic and Western Power attended the scene to attend to the broken power pole.
