BUNBURY school children were invited to RadioWest’s 2015 Easter Egg Treasure Hunt held at the Back Beach yesterday.
Hundreds of kids ran down to the beach to meet the Easter Bunny as he arrived by a lifeboat. There were lots of happy faces as they got to cuddle the Easter Bunny.
After they had met the Easter Bunny they had an Easter Egg Treasure Hunt in the sand and received all different sized Easter eggs.
Nine separate Easter Egg Treasure Hunts took place simultaneously across regional WA, with more than 4,000 kids that took part, finding tokens, toys and chocolate eggs.
RadioWest broadcasted live yesterday afternoon and crossed to each one of the events over the course of the afternoon to provide network-wide updates to its listeners.
“It’s great that something which started as a small community event has grown into such a massive day for us,” tactics team leader Chris Kessell said.
“Every year we have more kids coming down to participate, which just goes to show that it’s something our local listeners want to be a part of, year in and year out.”
It was a great success, with a range of entertainment which included a jumping castle, pony rides and group fitness classes on the sand.
