The concert will musically tell the tale of the 'Carnival of Animals', a story from 19th century French composer Camille Saint-Saens.
Blackwood River Chamber Festival Director, Sally Boud from Bridgetown, said it was a delightful story that is worth coming to watch.
"This performance is a children's concert, but everyone is welcome to come along as it is a lovely story to listen to," Ms Boud said.
The free concert is the lead up to an epic festival weekend with musicians coming from as far as Sydney to perform.
"Following the Thursday afternoon concert, there is a community concert at St Paul's church in Bridgetown on Friday night," Ms Boud said. "Tickets are still available for this and a supper is included in the price."
Sally and husband Geoff Bourgault are performing during the concert and are looking forward to the big weekend.
"We have the main concert on Saturday, where we will be performing to a sold out crowd," Ms Boud said. "We are also performing on Saturday night in Greenbushes and again on Sunday at St Paul's church.
"It is wonderful to have this festival in and around Bridgetown in the Blackwood Valley. We can think of nothing more special than to bring some of Australia's finest musicians to this, our home, for a weekend of music making."
