Bridgetown karate success at Joondalup tournament

FOLLOWING successes in the Margaret river tournament, a small group of Bridgetown karate students headed to Perth to compete on Sunday June 21 in the Shobukan Karate tournament in Joondalup.

Three students from two Bridgetown karate clubs, Bridgetown Goju Ryu Karate and Shorikan Karate Bridgetown competed against students from various metropolitan clubs as well as members of the State Karate team. All three competitors came away with top three placings.

From Shorikan Karate Bridgetown, Declan Boston won Bronze in the boys 12-13 years Kumite. Meanwhile from Bridgetown Goju Ryu, Emma Jackson won Bronze in the girls 14-15 yrs open Kata. Sensei Damien Bell won silver in the Male Veterans Kata.
