DESPITE recent heavy rains and a spot of wild weather, Bunbury continues to have drier than average months.

The Bureau of Meteorolgy recorded 97.4mm of rain in Bunbury in August, which was 20 millimetres below the long term average of 117.6 millimetres for this time of the year.
But it wasn't all smooth sailing for the City with the State Emergency Services receiving 17 call-outs on Saturday with a tornado damaging a narrow strip of properties from Ocean Drive to Usher.
Bunbury experienced 11 days without rain in August, along with a further 8 days with less than 2mm of rainfall.
The 18th day of the month saw the highest amount of rainfall with 17.8mm dropping on the city.
The city was also slightly warmer than usual throughout August, with the average maximum temperature reaching 18.1 degrees.
This is compared to the month’s usual average of 17.7 degrees.
A peak of 24 degrees saw August 15 labelled the month’s hottest day while the temperature dipped to freezing point to make August 9 the coldest.
Things are looking warmer as spring approaches with forecast temperatures gradually climbing.
Despite a small maximum of just 17 on Tuesday, sunny weather and a forecast 20 degrees should make Wednesday a beautiful day.
The temperature will remain around the 20-mark for the rest of the week.
