FORTY-four Bridgetown High School students and five staff attended the 2015 District High Schools Country Week from September 21-25 in Perth.

The annual event with competitions in a variety of team sports, including Badminton, Basketball, Netball, AFL, soccer and volleyball, is the sporting highlight of the school calendar, with a record number of more than 1000 students from around the state competing in this year's event.
This year Bridgetown High School had a netball team, two mixed basketball teams and an AFL team. The AFL team and both mixed basketball teams came runner-up in their respective grand finals, with the AFL team winning the sportsmanship award in their competition.
Bridgetown High School Country Week coordinator John Tonai-Moore said it was always a great event to take students to, as they enjoyed the challenges of playing sport everyday as well as the fun social side to it.
"It was a pleasure to organise the activities during the week for the students," Mr Tonai-Moore said. "Everyone was well behaved and polite. The students really seemed to appreciate all the hard work the coaches did during the week and also leading up to Country Week.
"It was a real shame that so many students became ill during the camp and as a school we could not perform at our best on the last day of competition. I'm sure the main reason we lost the grand finals was that our students just did not have the energy to keep up with the other teams on the day.
"The students always met the deadlines that were set for them, even when we had some early mornings. I'd also like to thank all the parents for getting their children to the bus so early on Monday morning."
