DONNYBROOK Football Club received significant recognition at the season presentation night in early October when they were awarded the Club of the Year.
The Football Club’s Auskick Coordinator Nigel Tuia said the award was a sportsmanship trophy awarded to the club with the best game day record when it came to red/yellow cards, reports, incidents including coach, parent and spectator behaviour.
“Given that these things have made the news recently and showed our game in a poor light, it is a credit to everyone at DFC - coaches, players, parents, umpires, volunteers and spectators - that we have set a standard and an example of what an excellent Game Day Environment should be,” Tuia said.
“I'm sure we can even do better but well done to you all on an excellent season.”
Tuia said it was considered an honour to receive such an award, because it reflected well on the culture of the club.
