Busselton defeat Aces White
The Busselton Bullets claimed their third victory in as many weeks on Friday night when they notched a narrow 75 – 71 win over Aces White.
A late string of points at the foul-line gave Busselton a comfortable lead despite a last-minute three-pointer from Aces White’s Sam Fotu.
Matt Mansfield led the way for Busselton with 18 points, seven of which came at the free-throw line.
Jordan Sears fought hard for Aces White with 15 of his own while Lee Smith tallied 11, but it was not enough to bag a win.
Busselton will look to keep their winning streak alive on Friday night when they clash with Tornadoes Black.
Bulls Maroon defeat Tornadoes Grey
Contributions from each team member gifted the top-of-the-ladder Bulls Maroon a 88 – 68 victory over Tornadoes Grey.
South West Slammers product Patrick Phillips led the way for Bulls Maroon, scoring 23 points in a stellar night.
Fellow Slammers players Jordan Hickert and Trent Worthington were not far behind with 18 and 16 respectively.
Nathan Berryman (11) and Michael Gliddon (10) also had double-figure nights.
Joel McKay led the way for Tornadoes Grey with 24 points, but could not keep his side in contention.
Aces Navy defeat Bulls Gold
Jeremy Paull went off in his side’s victory over Bulls Gold, as he took charge and led his team to a big win.
Paull could not be stopped as he dominated Bulls Gold’s defenders and scorched them for 39 points.
He received a helping hand from Wade Hitchcock (17) and Archie Hall (14) as Aces Navy ousted Bulls Gold 88 – 67.
Brynn Francis top scored for Bulls Gold with 19.
Tornadoes Black defeat Tornadoes Red
Five double-figure scorers and a strict defence helped Tornadoes Black to a huge victory over Tornadoes Red.
Jason Smith top scored for Tornadoes Black with 17, but it was a number of players who pitched in to get the side over the line.
Brendon Canzirri, Carey Watkins and Lucas Goff all scored 11 points while Tim Collins put up 12.
Tornadoes Black only allowed Tornadoes Red to score 49 points, as they pulled off a 22-point win.
A-Grade Women
Bulls defeat Aces Blue
Two last-minute buckets to Rebecca Preston sealed a thrilling win over Aces Blue for Bulls on Friday night.
Trailing by two points with time running out, Preston nailed two late shots to give her side a 45 – 43 win.
She finished the night with 14 points while teammates Brittany Gliddon (nine points) and Jenna Gmeiner (eight points) also had productive nights.
Aces Blue will now head into the bye week, while Bulls will look to notch another win against Aces White next week.
Aces White defeat Tornadoes Black
A huge effort from Ebony Bilcich was not enough to post a victory for Tornadoes Black, as they went down to Aces White 61 – 48.
Bilcich posted 17 points but could not rally her team to a win as Aces White recorded a more evenly spread team effort.
Georgia Denehey top-scored for Aces White with 19, but Tiahna Sears (13), Cassady Anderson (10) and Amanda Frontino (eight) all assisted in the scoring department.
Next week Tornadoes Black will play Busselton at the Geographe Leisure Centre.
