The Perth Wildcats have announce they are bringing all seven of their NBL Championship Trophies on a tour of the South West.
Championship players will bring the trophies to Waroona, Pinjarra, Brunswick, Australind and Bunbury.
The four day tour begins next week with captain Damien Martin, Greg Hire and Shawn Redhage visiting ten primary and highschool from Wednesday to Friday.
The tour will also include three coaching clinics run by the players at the South West Sports Centre in Bunbury on Thursday and Friday nights specifically for boys and girls under the age of 14.
A secondary coaching clinic will be run on Saturday morning at the same venue.
A clinic for players over the age of 14 will run for two hours on Saturday afternoon at the Leschenault Leisure Centre in Australind.
Greg Hire is excited to get out into the regions.
‘I think it’s the least we can do after the commitment shown by our extremely passionate fan base,” he said.
“We know of some fans who travel upward of three hours each way to show their love of the club.
“The Wildcats represent this entire state so I imagine it will be truly humbling to see how much this championship means to these regional areas.”
Each visit and clinic will provide a rare opportunity to meet the players and get a photo with the trophies.
